Setup

Clone the repository, then follow the install steps from the README.

Vybe-Check

Public source release candidate. Start with the QC guide. Final installed, native-store, and cross-platform verification remains pending.

A local workshop for refining image prompts, with an optional video continuation. Version 0.1.0rc1 is a release candidate. Source authoring is not proof of installation or platform support.

Start with an outcome, agree the visual direction, refine a version, and export the agreed prompt. Image-only work is complete on its own. The board shows the same saved state as the command line. It doesn't provide a conversational model or generate paid images or videos.

Use CPython 3.11 through 3.14. Follow the Quickstart for the invented ceramic workshop and kite examples. See Privacy before adding reference media or optional advice, and Lifecycle before updating or removing a registration.

The core saves local sessions and exports without a remote runtime service. Installing the package and dependencies is explicit package-manager work and can use the network. Optional local studies require your own compatible ComfyUI installation and checkpoint. Optional decision advice requires explicit credentials, outbound review, current bounded billing, and approval.

Install (from QC_GUIDE.md / Quickstart)
Create a dedicated virtual environment, then install the package from the clone. On macOS or Linux:

On Windows PowerShell use py -m venv .venv and .\.venv\Scripts\Activate.ps1. If activation is refused, call .venv\Scripts\python.exe and .venv\Scripts\vybe-check.exe directly.
pyproject.toml names the package vybe-check, version 0.1.0rc1, requires-python >=3.11,<3.15, dependencies portalocker==4.4.0 and Pillow>=11.3,<14. Optional extras: judge (keyring / winrt credentials), and dev (pytest, build, playwright). The console script is vybe-check = vybe_check.cli:main.

Replace SESSION_ID with the ID printed by new:

Open the printed board URL. Keep that terminal running. Use a second activated terminal for further commands. Export with:
python -m vybe_check --root .qc-state export SESSION_ID --target image --version 1
Choose a new qc-examples folder; copy refuses an existing destination. If the port is occupied, choose another without stopping an unknown listener.

Agent registration (Quickstart)
Registration is explicit per agent. Install only the agents you use, then restart or refresh that agent's skill discovery:
vybe-check install --agent codex --scope user
vybe-check install --agent claude --scope user
Project-only registration needs an explicit project:
vybe-check install --agent codex --scope project --project PROJECT
Optional local ComfyUI studies and optional judge advice are documented in Quickstart and Privacy. Do not enable them unless the user asks. Core prompt refinement needs no API key or paid generation.

Done looks like this
- The venv is active and python -m pip install . succeeded.
- python -m vybe_check --help works.
- A QC ceramic session was created under the chosen --root, an image event applied at revision 0, the board URL opened, and an image export of version 1 succeeded.
- No credentials were invented or printed. Optional ComfyUI and judge paths were left alone unless the user asked.
Undo or lifecycle steps are in docs/lifecycle.md. Keep personal references, .qc-state, generated assets, credentials, and local review logs out of commits and issues.
